On June 3, the Madao Junction and Qishi Junction of the Pinglu Canal officially began water filling, marking the successful full-line water filling of the Pinglu Canal and laying a solid foundation for the scheduled navigation in September.

At the Madao Junction, the construction and management team of the Pinglu Canal adopted a plan of "first breaching the cofferdam, then filling with water, and sequentially debugging the left and right locks" for water filling and debugging. Workers first removed the downstream cofferdam, and water slowly filled the downstream lock through the cofferdam breach. During the water filling process, the construction and management team will inspect the sealing performance of maintenance valves and working valves, as well as the stress and deformation of structural buildings, to ensure all indicators meet navigation requirements. After the downstream water level of the left and right locks is filled to elevation +34 meters, the downstream water filling work at Madao Junction will be completed; the entire downstream water filling process is expected to take 30 days.

At present, the overall project progress of the Pinglu Canal exceeds 96%. The construction and management team is accelerating the water-based debugging of the junction works and the construction of supporting navigation channel projects, conducting comprehensive testing and debugging of the entire equipment system to ensure that all equipment meets the navigation operation standards.
