On March 18, at the Pinglu Canal Qingnian Junction, the hundreds-of-tonnes miter gates were smoothly opened and closed in a dry, water-free environment under the precise control of hydraulic hoists. This marks that the Pinglu Canal has entered the stage of lock equipment commissioning.
As the “first step” in inspecting the precision of equipment manufacturing and installation, the single-machine, single-gate commissioning under water-free conditions aims to verify the operating posture of the gate, the sealing clearance and assembly quality of moving parts, as well as the mechanical performance of the hoists, the correctness of electrical control logic and operational stability. Through repeated no-load operation, potential hazards such as mechanical jamming and electrical signal errors can be identified and eliminated in advance.
The water-free single-machine, single-gate commissioning will be carried out in phases and by zones, with completion at the Qingnian Junction scheduled for early April. Relying on a digital management platform, the Pinglu Canal construction and management team records and analyzes each set of data during commissioning in detail, strictly controls quality, and strives to achieve zero defects in equipment installation and zero failures in commissioning operation, laying a solid foundation for subsequent water-filled commissioning.
