
Reporters learned from the Pinglu Canal Group that construction teams are pressing ahead toward the goal of opening the canal to navigation in 2026. To date, a cumulative 306 million cubic meters of earth and rock excavation has been completed, along with 5.846 million cubic meters of concrete poured for the main ship lock structures. The basic formation of approximately 115 kilometers of the navigation channel has been achieved, and 19 bridges spanning the canal have been completed.
It is reported that all main concrete pouring work for the ship lock of the Pinglu Canal hub project has now been fully completed, laying a solid foundation for the canal’s scheduled opening to navigation in 2026.
